The best answer I can give to this is based on a conversation with
Dave Finley last week. There will be
a) HEP running until Feb 7 followed by a week of 36x36 studies
and then shutdown Feb 15.
or
b) HEP running until Feb 13 followed by a week of 36x36 studies
and then shutdown Feb 15. (When I asked Dave how we do a weeks
worth of studies in two days he smiled and said he hasn't
figured that out yet.)

Also I see a schedule posted on the bulletin board dated 1/16/96
which gives the start of shutdown as ~Feb 19.

> cogging relative to where it was last summer] during the E811 running?

There was no change in cogging or the collision point during E811
running. There was a change in the cogging and collision point
1/8/96 which changed C:COGSUM from -55.86 to the new value -55.878.

This change moved the collision point 5 cm towards the direction
from which the protons come. I did not see any other changes
over the past 52 weeks.
