I have adjusted the t0/bd*pbar timing. It is now getting 5.9k/6.1k
typically. It appear, although I did not do a careful study, that the optimum
point is with the bd pulse slightly late (~<1ns). It tends to fluctuate
earlier. So it is set to be a bit inefficient for late stuff and pretty
good for most everything. Earlier today it was ~50% eff.
Item #2. The on again/off again missing card in chamber 10 is
alive and well (at least still present). I looked at chamber 110 with
beam gas. seems fine.
one caution: If online is not running WHEN you start a run, it will set peds
to zero. This will give considerable hot spots/wires in the michigan chambers.
It may also skew other adc distributions (I don't believe that we are using
ped_sub_adcs anywhere except in the chambers online).
item #3. The pbar pulse in the k-counters is ~371 ns after the p
pulse. To get these into adcs I advocate putting up another adc (getting it
from prep). Otherwise we would have to delay each of the lamberson counters
300 odd ns. Not an aesthetically pleasing possibility, but doable.
I would suggest getting a copy of the gate for the lambertson adc and
delaying it the appropriate amount (and most likely rediscriminating it) and
using that with the new adc. We have a 2249W here (owned by mich) but there
was some question about offsets/leaky caps in the AC coupling. I think
bugging prep for a 2249A for this purpose is the thing to do. Especially since
we would only have to be in hock to them for 30-40 days max.
Other: The problem with gamma 6 is still unresolved. My strongest
suspicion is a bad adc channel-- the signal is there.
My plans are delayed by the untimely access of yesterday afternoon.
I'll be leaving sometime in the morning. I'm thinking after the 9am meeting.
I would rather leave earlier, but A) want to sleep and B!) think I can get
the k-counter, gamma 6 problems more or less sorted out before then (9am).
I think I'm ready to study the photoproduction of vitamin D.
Bill.
